Characteristics and projection of the truces between castilla and granada during the xiiith, xivth and xvth centuries
Abstract
The relationships between the frontier of Casilla and Granada, were marked by the constant disputes typical of the two societies in conflict. However, and in light of the documentary evidence, it is possible to affirm that real will existed to establish peace at the frontier. This would explain the effort to sign truces, which were applied during great part of the XIIIth to XVth Century. These followed a predetermined model and their aim was to establish the discontinuance of hostilities. All in all, their real value was many times undervalued and many times not taken into consideration, generating confrontations and disputes in the complex frontier scenario.
