Tratado hispano-mapuche de negrete de 1803
Abstract
This article describes the circumstances surrounding the signature of the Treaty in Parliament, which took place on March 3-5, 1803, when don Pedro Quijada, commander in chief to the River Bío-Bío Region, acted as representative of Governor Luis Muñoz Guzmán on behalf of the Spanish party, and two hundred and thirty-nine chief caciques acted on behalf of the indigenous party. The most important clauses of the treaty are presented.
