Abstract

On 6 November 1938, the Cardinal Secretary of the Vatican State, Eugenio Pacelli, signed the instructions that were to be delivered to the new nuncio in Chile, the archbishop Aldo Laghi, which have recently become known after the opening of the Vatican Apostolic Archive for the period of the pontificate of Pio XII. The Spanish translation of these instructions is presented in this document, as well as a brief introduction to place them in their historical context and notes to facilitate their understanding.
